Just a little holiday cheer. Sort of.

An outdoor shopping center near us hosted a "Lighting of the Streets" event (ushering in the holidays type thing) this weekend. The live music was enough to get us there, but the carriage rides, free goodies and Santa were a bonus.

At least Micah and I thought so... meeting Santa turned out to be a rather terrifying experience for Maddi.

We even tried taking pictures by the nifty North Pole sign, but she was still pretty distraught. We finally got a halfway decent picture, five feet away from Santa (notice she's still wide-eyed with terror, poor thing).

The best part of the evening was this little slice of heaven:

Cheesecake on a stick! Congratulations, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, you are officially my favorite chocolate shop ever.

HAHAHAHA! That just made my day! Zoe absolutely hates Santa! She couldn't even do it last year. She's either screaming, or I have to be holding her. Last year she said she was going to be a "big girl" and go see him for a picture and we got up there and she started the backing away slowly in preparation to run. I ended up having to hold her hand standing next to Santa, while also holding the baby with a huge baby puke stain running down my shirt while Abby sat blissfully oblivious on Santa's lap grinning like the Cheshire Cat! Ah, good times! Sure glad I got that one commemorated forever with a picture :p

Maddison looks devastatingly sad! Sorry she's not into Santa for her first Christmas. Hopefully she'll be extra eager for the holiday in years to come in exchange.

And you have officially made me hungry. That chocolate-dipped cheesecake is a brilliant idea.
