Recently I went through all our photos from the past year- getting them organized, edited and printed to put in albums. The kiddos loved looking at all the pictures of themselves and reliving memories. It's astonishing to me how quickly I'd forgotten some of our little adventures, the silly things the kids used to do, and just how much they've grown in a year! So in honor of nostalgia and reviving this little blog, here are a few gems from 2013...
January.
Maddi's first ballet class, my (love/hate) experience with "Insanity"
work-outs, a close-encounter with pneumonia, and the best game of
hide and seek ever. Also some adventures with spaghetti.
February.
Valentines. The Rodeo carnival. Our first garden. And hangers in the
dryer courtesy of the same little guy who likes to put shoes in the trash can.
March.
A Daddy-daughter dance, cousins visit from Missouri, and Micah's green-thumb.
Make-shift drum sets in the pantry and Graysen's favorite reading spot.
April.
Easter, cascarones, and mermaids. Among other silliness.
May.
Maddi meets a lobster, Dad the jungle gym, and grilled home-grown
veggies. And the sweetest little strawberry shortcake dance recital.
June.
Graysen turns two. Father's Day present "win." I dust off the
sewing machine and make some pillows. And the Great Cereal Incident.
July.
We ride a camel, and a train. We visit the Tea Gardens
downtown and then exploit our children for free food.
Pops and CC come to visit and we have a fabulous water balloon fight.
August.
A broken arm, big shoes, a new mini-van, and a
weekend getaway to celebrate 7 years.
September.
We visit Grandma & Grandpa in Utah, where we go boating, play
at the State Fair, and I learn to can peaches (thanks, Mom!).
October.
Some more ballet, Micah turns 30, one of my besties
moves to TX, and we all dress up for Halloween.
November.
A visit to the farm, Maddi is officially the best big sister ever,
and we are still getting veggies from the garden (hooray for Texas weather!).
December.
Christmas dance recital, Madison turns five, and Micah
stars in the Church Christmas party play.
We adopt a puppy (!), and Santa builds us a swingset.
And that's the end! Thanks for sticking with it all the way through and indulging my need to play catch-up. Hope your 2013 was as wonderful and blessed as ours was!
